This is an intralinguistic (English-English) C1 Written Mediation Task.
In «The Future of Robots & Humanity», students are asked to summarize a 450-word text highlighting the most significant insights as required for a project in which some of the participants are not proficient enough to access the nuances of the ideas expressed.
As you will see, it differs slightly from more conventional mediation tasks, as it has been designed to test students’ ability to summarize. However, as students naturally activate other mediation strategies and microskills when they are summarizing, these have also been outlined in the Guide for the Evaluator.
