Yesterday we presented The Way Experience in EOI Raimundo de Toledo. Wonderful day in Toledo. Such a charming city. We adore this atmosphere, a live melting pot of cultures in the old town, with its cobbled streets and hundreds of corners each telling a part of the history of Spain. It really is a pleasure to be back. We really enjoyed the early morning walks, just before the city starts waking up, when tourists are still in bed and the day hasn’t yet broken completely. The cool aroma of the new morning, the light fog that allows you to make out the silhouettes of the towers that are discernible among the buildings. Our favourite time of day, without a shed of doubt, is any time between 7 and 9 am to savour a city at its best.
We discovered El Botero Tavern, a fusion restaurant recommended by one of the teachers at EOI Toledo, and we really thank her for it because we just loved it. Flavors explode in your mouth with every bite and it definitely is a must if you’re visiting Toledo and you are a fan of creative cuisine. A sure bet.
EOI Raimundo de Toledo is located in the area of the convents, which really takes you back to medieval times. We really felt at home thanks to the warm welcome from the teachers in the English Department with whom we really enjoyed discussing all things mediation.
Something that did surprise us was the type of Exam task that will be implemented in Castilla La Mancha for written mediation. It will consist of a video in Spanish and students will be asked to extract specific information from it or to summarize it in the target language. We think it is a brilliant idea and we will start incorporating this kind of mediation task to The Way’s library right away.
Oral Mediation will also be cross-linguistic, as well as in other communities in Spain like Murcia and Aragón.
We also shared our feedback method which keeps surprising most teachers for its simplicity, yet promising results.
