This is a cross-linguistic (Spanish-English) C2 Written Mediation Task.
In «Alarm Status & Job Redundancy», students are asked to summarize a 450-word text about the differences among the modalities of redundancy employees can be subject to, and reach a conclusion as to which one(s) may affect a friend of theirs.
As you will see, it differs slightly from more conventional mediation tasks, as it has been designed to test students’ ability to summarize.
However, as students naturally activate other mediation strategies and microskills when they are summarizing, these have also been outlined in the Guide for the Evaluator.
