This is a Cross-linguistic (Spanish-English) B2 Written Mediation Task.
In «In an emergency», students are asked to help a language assistant understand the information on a poster found in all classrooms, and also make sure they know what their role would be in a situation like the ones described on the poster.
You have the same situation available in Oral Mediation format, so you can choose the one that suits you best.
Students naturally activate several mediation strategies and microskills when they are mediating, like selecting relevant information, adapting the language by explaining specific terminology and connecting with previous knowledge, among others. They are asked to reflect on these strategies and microskills in an exercise designed to raise their awareness so they can consciously activate them in any mediation practice.
